Welcome!
Welcome to The Practical Mom Shop! I'm excited to finally start a blog! Hopefully I can get all the little stuff figured out and this can be a fun place to visit, look around, get ideas, and buy products.
First, a bit about me. I'm Mindy. I've been married to my dear husband for over 11 years. We've been blessed with 5 kids, ages 2 through 9. We have three boys and two girls, and we're NEVER bored!
I leaned to sew from my mom a looooooooong time ago, when I was probably around 10. I learned the basics, including how to use Mom's serger. I sort of forgot about sewing during high school, college, and beyond. I picked it up again a year or so after my husband and I got married, but only did hooded towels. About a year ago, I made my first messenger bag. A few friends saw it and begged me to make one for them. What a wild ride that began! Soon, I was setting up a Facebook shop (http://www.facebook.com/practicalmomshop), and buying all the fabric my house could hold!
I'm hoping to set up a store on this blog soon. Facebook has been great for getting me started, but communication is unreliable. I've lost lots of sales due to Facebook not telling people that I've responded to their questions. I'm hoping to overcome that problem by having a store on this blog!
